I think for the first time since 2003 I deleted a post aside from removing the archives earlier this year. I don't enjoy doing such things and the decision was not easy but it was the right one. In some ways I see deleting posts as dishonest but in this case I feel I posted in frustration and after further review I believe it was best to remove the entry. I feel I was justified in the actions I took that were described in the post but ultimately it is probably more of a situation to discuss in private and not in person.
The whole point of the post was to tell people how important it is to be a good customer and be respectful to whomever answers the phone. I can absolutely guarantee you will get better service and may actually get the person on the other line to take extra steps to help you above what they would normally take. The call I received last week was from a rude customer that had no reason to be rude and disrespectful as I initially wanted to help him. Even though I was completely professional I was not extended the same courtesy which I feel justified my reduced level of service. I am willing to discuss opinions to the contrary but I stand by my position.

I have to buy Spore now, thank you very much. I quit playing PC games because they quit making them. I'm a game freak when I find one I like, so perhaps it's better that way. Also, you KNOW I wish I had read the post you removed. God knows I love a good rantin' and ravin'
Yeah, I thought it was an ok entry but my wife said it might be a little troublesome for me later, especially for possible future employers. I was hesitant to publish it in the beginning so I decided to take it down. Feel good knowing that you didn't miss much.
Careful with SPORE...the DRM is draconian. Also, do some YouTube searches on SPORE Creature Creator and see what some of the people have come up with...
I did read that post. ANd I thought it was pretty good. spot on really as i've seen similar and experienced from both sides.
But your wife is right. Jess says that the CTO of her company has started checking myspace/facebook etc of potential AND current employees.
I think you made the right decision in deleting it. The eventual track you took -- regardless of its lack of effect on the outcome -- seemed contrary to your own point (I know that's vague, but I don't want to directly reference what you just removed).
Maybe, but I think I started out stating that I do not subscribe to the "the customer is always right" theory in either thought or practice. However, I concede that my sarcastic/snarky writing is probably not the right way to make the point. I will reiterate though that I was never any less than 100% cordial and professional on the phone.
